Our outreach committee has commended new ministries to our Church Council, which approved these ministries at their August meeting. We will be supporting a new vicar in Juneau, Alaska.  In addition to the support we already give our SOU campus ministry, and our District missions, we have adopted LUTHERAN LATINO MINISTRIES under the leadership of Pastor Miguel and Mrs. Marta Luna.

Among the successful programs they offer: Bilingual Vacation Bible School at Hope Lutheran church in Woodburn; A Soccer program at Ascension, Portland for 360 youth…most are Latino and they attend daily devotions & bible study with the soccer camp; and finally an Academic summer school for immigrant Children at Trinity Lutheran church in Portland. English reading, writing and speaking are emphazied, with daily devotions and chapel services. For more details see the Outreach bulletin board in the hallway.
